I’ve been skiing today

Want some fun? Try skiing.

I’ve been invited for a day of skiing in the Rhön by Chris(tian) – the slopes of the Kreuzberg got ridden. Ok, skiing in the alps is definitely more fun, but it’s cool to have the possibility to do this after only 40-45 minutes of driving.

First of all, it’s a very small field of ski-run, there are only 3 ski-lifts. And, what a bummer, the best one’s business hours are restricted to the weekend, so there were only 2 ski-lifts open. Well, on the map there were 4 to 6 slopes, but once again, they were either closed today or they drew 2 lines on the map where one could only find one slope – a very broad one, ok.

The second problem was the snow: There wasn’t more than 5 to 25 centimetres on the slopes, and it wasn’t prepared that well. At the valley stations were snowfree spots and some stones – this is the point where youre nerves get on edge in case you want to use your skis again some time…

Yes, there where some problems – but all in all, it was simply fun. It was the first time skiing this season, and I had really missed it until now. Should I be lucky we’ll go skiing in the next days again, otherwise I’ll have to wait…
