Pumped.

A few days ago, Leo Babauta wrote an article describing how inspiring surrounding yourself with passionate people can be.

The people I talked with last night are incredibly passionate about what they’re doing. And yes, Brett, I mean passionate: excited, fired-up, feeling-strongly-about, thinking-about-it-all-the-time, can’t-wait-to-do-it-when-you-wake-up passion. When you talk with people who are passionate like that, you can’t help but get fired up yourself. You want to go out and do something exciting.

Leo describes how people obsessed with doing something well can not only spark that same energy in yourself, but even fuel an intense fire.

One of the books I’m currently reading is The Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk.

You may know Gary Vee as the host of WineLibraryTV, a co-founder of VaynerMedia and the author of Crush It!, his first book. When the latter hit the market in 2009, critics whined about Gary repeatedly driving the same message home: You want to be successful? Be passionate about what you do, connect with people and hustle your ass off.

I’m on page 85 out of 240 and can’t say The Thank You Economy taught me anything I didn’t know before. But Gary’s passion and enthusiasm burn in every single letter he wrote (or maybe Stephanie Land—his ghostwriter—wrote).

Gary Vee is a decidedly excited, fired-up, feeling-strongly-about person. And reading his book—or watching him talk—gets me excited and fired-up.

As you can see, I’m pumped. Now I just need to ship.
